Qualifications Required:

- Twelve-week pediatric affiliation or pediatric experience
- Knowledge of developmental theory, physical and percepto-cognitive disabilities, and psycho-social aspects of functional adaptation
- Ability to evaluate performance disruptions and plan treatments
- Tact and judgment in duties
- Commitment to skill improvement
- Effective teamwork skills
- Good verbal and written English communication skills

Essential Functions:
- Administers and interprets assessment tools including history, screening, observations, and evaluations
- Sets functional goals for remediation, compensation, or adaptation
- Selects and evaluates treatment methods
- Applies activity analysis principles to meet environmental demands
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, team, physicians, and community contacts
- Assists in training staff, COTAs, aides, and students
- Seeks supervision when needed and contributes to improvement plans
- Explains symptoms, prognosis, and limitations for diagnostic groups
- Makes discharge recommendations considering prognosis and community resources
