Join our Logistics Engineering Services team as a Senior Decommissioning Engineer. You will work with a diverse group to develop, innovate, optimise and manage decommissioning solutions within offshore wind projects.

About the Role

  • Manage the creation, updating and ongoing management of Decommissioning Programs for both operational and development sites, ensuring solutions are cost‑optimised, safe and sustainable.
  • Oversee decommissioning logistics planning and preparation for RWE Offshore’s current assets and active projects, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of technical specialists.
  • Manage the technical and commercial assessment of decommissioning technologies and methodologies, including interface management across foundation, electrical/cable and turbine packages to develop optimised, integrated solutions.
  • Support procurement in preparing offshore transport and decommissioning contracts, technical specifications and vessel charters.
  • Coordinate interface management with partner companies, authorities and governmental bodies, working alongside specialist RWE functions including sustainability and consenting teams.
  • Oversee the annual update of cost estimates for all operational sites in a fully traceable and auditable process, including support for country audits.
  • Lead specific innovation workstreams – including Steel Cutting, Recycling, Port Infrastructure and Innovative Decommissioning Methods – to accelerate supply chain and technology development in collaboration with the Engineering Innovations team.
  • Promote knowledge sharing, lessons learned and best practice across time scheduling, budget control and interdisciplinary coordination of offshore decommissioning activities.

Job Requirements and Experience

  • Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Logistics, Renewable Energy or a closely related discipline.
  • Significant demonstrable experience in the delivery of offshore wind farm projects, or experience in Transport & Installation Package Management or Construction Logistics within offshore wind.
  • Demonstrable experience with contracts used in offshore construction and vessel chartering.
  • Collaborative and comfortable working with others in a multinational, multidisciplinary global team.
  • Motivated and self‑motivated, with problem‑solving ability and communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Willing and able to travel within the EU and globally as required to support projects.
  • Willing and able to work offshore and at heights.
