About the Job
Pre-contract activities
- Working closely with stakeholders in the O&M Major Campaigns and Procurement teams, you will support and steer the negotiation of jack‑up barge and subsea service agreements between RWE and third‑party vessel owners, either for standalone campaigns or broader frameworks, O&M service contracts for greenfield (new‑build RWE projects) and brownfield (recontracting), reviewing tender submissions and alignment of agreement terms.
- Lead on the negotiation of commercial major campaign packages with joint venture windfarms in which RWE has / will have an ownership stake, developing positions for delivery of major campaigns commensurate with the risk allocations in RWE’s supply chain and the margins RWE will apply as service provider to the relevant joint venture.
This may include projects where an RWE overall operations and maintenance service package to the windfarm is not yet agreed, but major campaigns scope is intended to be part of a wider RWE service package.
- Develop and market new commercial products relating to RWE’s Offshore Wind portfolio‑level Major Campaigns activities for marketing to relevant joint ventures, working closely with stakeholders throughout the RWE Offshore Wind business to understand costings, risk allocation and profitability of these new products.
You will also use insights to target the marketing of the services to relevant joint venture projects, including potential value exposure, technical risks and risk appetite, pricing and incentive mechanisms.
Post-contract activities
- Deliver upskilling / handover of key operational elements within negotiated service agreements to relevant internal stakeholders, establishing feedback / escalation loops.
- Develop, understand, deliver and challenge RWE’s financial performance in respect of O&M major campaigns contract positions – protecting RWE’s position by acting as the commercial business partner to colleagues in order to ensure revenue targets are realised in line with negotiated positions / product design.
- Address and manage any disputes or commercial issues in collaboration with the relevant RWE stakeholders (site management teams, Legal, Offshore Operations Portfolio Management) that arise from operational service contracts during the operation of the offshore wind assets, including leading the management of O&M customer claims and how these link to claim positions with RWE’s supply chain.
- Job Requirements and Experience
- Minimum a few years’ offshore wind experience, with some being within the contract management or commercial management major operations & maintenance campaigns and/or service contracts.
- Advanced understanding of offshore wind logistics and associated contractual and commercial terms.
- Market knowledge and understanding of complex O&M service offers and delivery models.
- Highly numerate and with well‑developed verbal reasoning skills to be able to assess the implications of different contract terms and commercial offerings – demonstrated by degree‑level qualification or significant relevant career experience.
- Experience of contract structuring and risk evaluation and / or delivery within the energy industry.
- Analytical approach to problem solving.
- Effective communication skills and an ability to engage external and internal specialists at various levels.
- Process development skills – ability to understand how to deliver and manage RWE’s contractual obligations within a across a portfolio of different service agreements.
- Willingness to travel (primarily UK/Central Europe) and spend limited periods offshore to gain understanding of the provided service.
- Advantageous but not essential
- Advanced understanding of controlling and finance management principle.
