About the Role
RWE Supply & Trading is scaling what’s next in UK power and green certificates. Join a high-performing team that’s now expanding into flexibility purchase agreements and storage solutions — giving you real freedom, visibility and the chance to build a greenfield growth area.
- Originate and close PPAs and green certificate agreements across both asset‑backed and trading‑backed structures.
- Design and structure innovative, risk-balanced solutions, including flexibility purchase agreements, storage-backed structures and battery optimisation‑linked products.
- Build and manage a high‑quality pipeline in partnership with generators, storage developers, suppliers and large energy consumers.
- Lead end‑to‑end negotiations and steer approvals with Portfolio Management, Trading, Risk, Legal & Compliance and Finance.
- Turn market, regulatory and credit insights into compelling term sheets and proposals that create measurable value.
- Strengthen RWEST’s market position through long‑term partnerships and a trusted, solutions‑led presence in UK power.
- Operate across commercial tenors from 6 months up to c. 15 years, shaping structures that fit customer needs and RWEST’s portfolio.

Job Requirements and Experience
- Proven track record originating complex commodity deals, including PPAs (up‑and‑downstream/RtM).
- Experience with flexibility purchase agreements, storage-backed structures, BESS route‑to‑market, optimisation, tolling or other structured power products; ideally across both asset‑backed and trading‑backed origination models.
- Commercially sharp negotiator with clear P&L accountability and strong business acumen.
- Deep understanding of market, credit, regulatory, legal and liquidity risks; able to structure balanced risk‑return contracts.
- Established relationships across the UK flexibility ecosystem (e.g. storage developers, aggregators, utilities).
- Strategic and adaptable mindset, comfortable adjusting approaches in a dynamic regulatory landscape and across varied tenors.
- Skilled communicator who can develop, document and explain complex structures to senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong networker and influencer; a true team player with the drive to advance RWEST’s growth in renewables and trading.
