To start as soon as possible, full time, fixed term Functional area: Engineering Fixed Term Contract of 8 Months.

The “Technical Optimization” department within Engineering leads technical optimization and provides engineering expertise to RWE Renewables Europe & Australia projects in order to increase the competitiveness and value of onshore wind, battery storage, and photovoltaic activities. The objective is to provide strategic and technological advice and to promote the optimization and innovation of new technical solutions.

As an experienced GIS Expert, you will ensure the continuity of GIS operations, guarantee reliable software deployments and data flows and maintain Agile coordination across projects involving GIS solutions and business systems such as GreenOS, RWE’s bespoke project management tool. This will include coordinating requirements for the internal Project Management-GIS integration programme and supporting configuration of (geo)spatial data applications. You will be part of an international back office team and working with a community of GIS specialists across RWE Renewables Europe and Australia and supporting various departments to ensure effective integration of GIS technology throughout the organization.

Your Tasks

  • For the integrated GIS delivery you will provide: GIS Data Management & Administration, interaction with ArcGIS Enterprise & Web Services, systems integration & data flows (GIS to Dynamics 365/Dataverse; ArcGIS Webhooks, Power Automate/REST APIs).
  • Your core responsibilities include sprint planning & capacity management, scrum facilitation, functional needs assessment & product coordination.
  • During sprints you will facilitate multi-environment deployment, incident diagnosis & resolution, provide quality assurance, write test cases and technical validation.
  • You will support project meetings to refine needs, detect and anticipate GIS technical requirements.
  • Provide guidance and GIS technical support during decision‑making for the progress of the project and support locally based GIS experts to ensure deadlines.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to maximize business value.
  • Clarify requirements with the project team, author and refine user stories.
  • Provide GIS support through direct consulting and/or web services.
  • Support GIS system administration and troubleshooting with the Central team.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in geoinformatics, geography, or other natural sciences and GIS‑related fields (computer science, spatial planning, environmental studies), or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum practices, including sprint planning and solution deployment.
  • Solid knowledge of ESRI products, particularly ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Enterprise.
  • Solid experience with Microsoft suite (Excel, Power Automate, Forms etc) and Dynamics 364 / Dataverse is an asset.
  • Several years of experience using geospatial methods for processing, analysis, and visualization of spatial data in a professional environment, including frequent use of Python, REST APIs, and SQL.
  • Experience in Azure DevOps (backlog & Agile tracking) is required.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with management and negotiate with external stakeholders.
  • Strong team‑working ability and proven integration skills within complex change management processes.
  • Social competence, high level of commitment, and intercultural mindset.
  • High ethical standards to preserve the reputation of RWE Renewables and commitment to core values and the code of conduct.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
  • Proficiency in English.
