Overview

You will lead engineering activities for Rhyl Flats and North Hoyle offshore wind farms, ensuring safety, reliability and asset integrity. You’ll shape long-term O&M strategies to maximise asset value and work across turbines, HV systems and balance of plant. The role combines technical leadership with risk-based decision making, procurement support, and HSSE leadership. You’ll manage major campaigns and drive continuous improvement while collaborating with stakeholders to deliver safe, compliant operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver long-term operations and maintenance strategies to maximise asset reliability, availability and value
  • Provide technical leadership across wind turbines, major components, HV systems, electrical infrastructure and balance of plant assets
  • Lead condition monitoring and asset health management to identify risks and reduce unplanned failures
  • Conduct technical risk assessments and implement cost-effective mitigation plans
  • Coordinate engineering modifications and major maintenance campaigns in line with standards and change management
  • Manage technical specifications, procurement support and contractor delivery against safety, quality and commercial objectives
  • Act as Contract Officer where required
  • Lead and develop engineering personnel through capability building and succession planning
  • Support stakeholders with technical reporting, root cause analysis, business cases and engineering recommendations; push for continuous improvement and visible HSSE leadership

Key requirements

  • Degree in engineering or equivalent relevant industry experience
  • Proven experience in wind farm operations, engineering asset management or similar asset-intensive industry
  • Strong knowledge of asset integrity, maintenance strategy and engineering risk management
  • Experience managing engineering contracts, projects and multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of HSSE legislation and standards, supported by an IOSH qualification or equivalent
  • Experience with HV systems and WTSR authorisations such as AT, AE or Person
  • Residence within commuting distance of the site or willingness to relocate
