We are seeking a Site Operating Technician to join us at Hythe OCGT Power Station. As a Site Operating Technician for the Embedded Assets fleet of OCGTs and Gas Engines, you’ll manage the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Hythe and remote sites, ensuring safe, reliable, and commercial performance. You’ll operate the plant from the Hythe control room, conduct routine operational tasks, perform fault diagnosis, and assist with breakdown recovery. You will work a full shift cycle, including 'call out' duties, and may be required to travel for the EA portfolio. Collaborating with Engineering & Outage teams, you’ll support shutdowns and recommissioning as needed. Managing contractors for routine and non-routine tasks is part of the role, and Contract Manager or Contract Engineer accreditation is desirable. This role offers the chance to work flexibly within a site team, contributing to operations, maintenance, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, forward-thinking, and able to effectively manage tasks on their own, bringing diligence to ensure the efficient operation of Embedded Assets Operations.

Job Requirements and Experience:
- Knowledge and experience of power and process plant operation and maintenance.
- Appreciation of the commercial aspects of the power generation business.
- A flexible approach to work patterns, dependent upon seasonal operating requirements.
- Knowledge of health, safety, environmental and relevant codes of practice.
- Operations or Engineering qualification, or studying towards the IOSH Managing Safety certification.
