RWE Renewables UK Management Ltd. is offering an apprenticeship within our Offshore Operations Controlling team, providing invaluable insight into the offshore wind sector. This 4-year Apprenticeship supports effective financial control, reporting, and analysis within the finance function.
The role contributes to the operation and improvement of controlling, accounting, and finance processes that support decision-making, compliance, and value protection, while developing the technical, analytical, and professional skills required for a future finance management role.
The apprenticeship follows the UK apprenticeship model with approximately 20% off-the-job learning delivered by an accredited training provider and 80% structured on-the-job learning within RWE teams. Upon completion, the apprentice will achieve BSc (Hons) Accounting & Finance Manager, Level 6 Accounting & Finance Manager Degree Apprenticeship.
Key Responsibilities:- Support operational planning, budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial reporting activities.
- Assist with monitoring financial and operational performance, including analysis of variances and key performance indicators.
- Produce accurate financial information to support decision‑making by finance colleagues, operations teams, and management.
- Contribute to the maintenance of effective financial controls, ensuring compliance with internal processes, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end activities, including reconciliations and data validation.
- Work with internal stakeholders across finance, operations, and wider business functions to understand cost drivers and financial performance.
- Assist with the development, standardisation, and improvement of finance systems, reports, and processes.
- Some travel will be required to visit other UK sites and offices, as well as occasional travel globally.
- Developing knowledge of accounting, finance, and controlling principles, supported through formal apprenticeship study.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present financial information clearly.
