About the role

Are you interested in a 13 month engineering placement starting June 2026 with one of the UK’s largest energy producers? Our Engineering and Outage group has an exciting industrial placement opportunity, and are looking for a motivated team member with excellent interpersonal skills!

RWE\’s Gas Engineering and Outage (E&O) Group supports our European RWE portfolio in the UK, Holland and Germany, we support the outages and projects across the Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Power plants, within this group, the Electrical Team is responsible for the management of all associated aspects of work across this discipline.

During your placement, you will:

  • Be supporting our fleet of power stations to be operated safely, efficiently and within the commercial market.
  • Undertake data analysis to diagnose problems to help in both long and short-term projects.
  • Support development of the asset integrity processes and systems and deliver on plant improvement projects and plant investigations.
  • Assist Engineers in delivery of work packages.
  • Gain important on-site / Engineering experience, on-the-job training, attend courses and workshops for your personal development. You will gain first-hand technical industrial experience and transferrable skills that are desired by all employers.

Job Requirements and Experience

  • Ideally, you should be pursuing a BEng or MEng Engineering or Science degree at an undergraduate level.
  • Your degree should include an industrial placement year to meet the requirements for this role.
  • Willingness to travel around the UK and potentially Europe, with overnight stays away from your home location. Expenses will be covered for this.

The Assessment Centre will take place on Thursday 27th November 2025 face to face in Swindon at RWE UK Head Office.

Accommodation will be booked on your behalf and travel subsidised by RWE. The evening prior to the Assessment Centre a meal will be held in Swindon of which you will be required to attend.
