Your Opportunity
During your placement, you will:
- Engage directly in hands‑on plant performance testing across RWE’s gas‑fired power stations (UK and potentially European Union)
- Collaborate with experienced performance engineers to collect and validate operational and test data, using advanced digital tools and expert systems
- Support both routine and high‑profile contractual tests, including witnessing OEM‑led acceptance activities, ensuring high‑quality data analysis, and learning how test results drive commercial and engineering decisions in a dynamic energy market
- Develop thermodynamic models and analyse and interpret the test results.
You will attend courses, workshops and on the job training for your personal development.
You may also have the opportunity to spend time with other disciplines across the Asset Management function, learning about the challenges of managing a pan‑European portfolio business.
Job Requirements and Experience
- Ideally, you are pursuing a degree in an Engineering discipline (preferably Mechanical or Chemical/Process), with an interest in the energy industry and knowledge of engineering fundamentals such as thermodynamics.
- A strong aptitude in analytical methods is essential. You will be using the latest analytical and visualisation tools, such as Seeq, PI Vision and other specialised software.

The Assessment Centre will take place on Thursday 27th November 2025 face to face in Swindon at RWE UK Head Office.
Accommodation will be booked on your behalf and travel subsidised by RWE. The evening prior to the Assessment Centre a meal will be held in Swindon of which you will be required to attend.
