Your Tasks:

  • Serve as the Legal Director, acting as the main contact for legal matters within OPEA, including small to medium-scale partnering & transactions.
  • Participate as a steering member of the OPEA Senior Management Team.
  • Manage team performance to ensure efficiency and quality in a high-performance environment.
  • Operate with an entrepreneurial mindset, responsibly, strategically, and economically, impacting both legal processes and OPEA operations.
  • Act as Senior Legal Counsel to the OPEA Board and business, coordinating legal support through your teams.
  • Handle Board Office, Corporate & Partnering Law topics, Regulatory, and Real Estate law.
  • Draft and review agreements, tenders, and other commercial documents.
  • Provide legal counsel on regulatory compliance, licensing, and new project development.
  • Negotiate contracts and develop standard legal documents and contracts.
  • Support claim management and dispute resolution processes.
  • Manage external legal advisors, optimize governance and control costs.
  • Oversee legal processes, including reporting, related to your areas of responsibility.
  • Manage OPEA's small-medium partnering and transactions business, coordinating larger transactions with RWE group M&A.
  • Host the OPEA-Compliance function.
  • Collaborate closely with RWE stakeholders, including Group General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, and other Heads of Legal.

Your Profile:

  • University law degree with distinction.
  • Several years of relevant experience, preferably with a consulting background.
  • Solid experience in Corporate and Partnering Law, renewables, and project structuring.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and standardization skills.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks and decision-making procedures.
  • Knowledge of business models, regulatory, technical developments, and their implications.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
  • Excellent English communication skills; German is an advantage.
