As a member of the Stations Operations and Maintenance Team, you will contribute towards delivering the day to day maintenance and operational requirements to maximize the safe, reliable, and commercial performance of the power station.
Utilising your background knowledge and experience in the field of Electrical, Control and Instrumentation engineering (C&I Bias), specifically in modern heavy industry, your duties and responsibilities will include routine preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis and breakdown recovery. The discipline Engineering team will provide direction and support as appropriate. You are required to effectively collaborate with Engineering & Outage teams, supporting plant shutdowns and recommissioning. This post offers the opportunity to work flexibly in a site team environment and experience a wide range of maintenance and operations responsibilities to the delivery of the continuous improvement agenda and to maximise the flexibility and potential of the Station within UK portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Meet both legislative and corporate requirements & standards ensuring effective safety and operational practices are adopted.
- Implementing effective maintenance strategies; carrying out routine maintenance, core skill first line fault diagnosis and problem solving to ensure that the plant is maintained to appropriate standards and in accordance with RWE procedures.
- Specify and procure spare parts in accordance with company policies, procedures, and budget requirements.
- Management of outage work packages to ensure safe completion to the required quality and timescale.
- Provide discipline support for plant breakdown and outages with out of hours and weekend overtime opportunities to meet the needs of the business.
- Contract responsibilities - Involvement in the execution of maintenance contracts and onsite work - inclusive of craft & contractor supervision.
- Planning, organizing, executing and where necessary supervising maintenance activities on the station.
Qualifications
- Hold a minimum of a level-3 Engineering qualification in your discipline such as a BTEC, NVQ or ONC.
Required Skills
- Experienced in a wide range of core control and instrumentation maintenance activities, as well as electrical, in heavy, process or power industry.
- Have strong interpersonal skills and be competent in the use of applicable business IT systems, previous experience of working with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
- Be a self-motivated, flexible individual able to work with the minimum of supervision, whilst being capable of providing support to the team.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, regulations, and directives.
- Hazardous area equipment (Compex Ex01-Ex04) desirable.
- IOSH β Managing Safely.
Pay range and compensation package
- An expected starting salary from Β£49,383 to Β£63,907 depending on experience and up to 10% annual bonus.
