RWE Renewables UK Management Ltd. is offering an exciting 12 month opportunity to join a forward-thinking creative team, operating and maintaining the Humber Gateway Offshore Wind Farm. Utilising your electrical or mechanical foundation and health and safety focus, you would be responsible for:

  • Routine annual maintenance, fault finding, major component exchanges, and high voltage switching.
  • Carrying out the maintenance of offshore wind turbines and the associated balance of plant, including servicing, troubleshooting, reactive and proactive maintenance, periodic inspections, modifications, retrofits, and main component exchanges.
  • Acting early and adjusting to changing conditions to limit breakdowns and improve energy production.
  • Utilising SCADA systems and other computer programmes to interrogate the turbine controller, reset faults, instigate maintenance activities, and build up fault histories.
  • Preparing work plans, recording tasks and documentation within SAP.
  • Assisting in all areas of site operations, working on improvement projects, repairs, RCA's, and other non-routine works.
  • Enacting a number of roles under the Wind Turbine Safety Rules; Authorised Technician, Competent Technician.
  • Positively engaging in the development of new and improved work procedures and best practices, including assisting with the writing of Operational Procedures, Method Statements, Work Instructions, and Approved Written Procedures.
  • Identifying and taking ownership of tasks or projects to improve Health and Safety, Wind Turbine performance, or general working.
  • Working in a small team with minimal supervision.

Job requirements and experience:

  • Completed an Engineering apprenticeship. Qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex systems and a high level of understanding when reading schematic drawings.
  • Collaborative mindset, offering suggestions for improvement and supporting a positive team environment.
  • Sound understanding of HSSE systems, ability to establish and maintain a safe work environment, and understanding of reporting procedures.
  • Experienced slinger and banksman.
  • Willingness to travel in some special cases to support other sites within our fleet and for training courses.
  • Good IT skills including MS Office.
  • A Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Shift Pattern: 7 days on and 7 days off (Tuesday to Monday). Applicants must live within a one-hour drive from the site for operational purposes. An offer of employment in this role may require holding active or ability to pass National Security vetting to SC level. Failure to obtain and/or maintain National Security Vetting to SC may result in the removal of job offers and/or existing employment.
