RWE Renewables UK Management Ltd. is offering an apprenticeship within our Offshore Operations Controlling team, providing invaluable insight into the offshore wind sector. The apprenticeship is based at our Coventry site, with occasional travel to our Gwynt y Mors site in Wales (approximately 2 days, including one overnight stay, every 2 weeks). This 4‑year Apprenticeship supports effective financial control, reporting, and analysis within the finance function.
The role contributes to the operation and improvement of controlling, accounting, and finance processes that support decision‑making, compliance, and value protection, while developing the technical, analytical, and professional skills required for a future finance management role. The apprenticeship follows the UK apprenticeship model with approximately 20% off‑the‑job learning delivered by an accredited training provider and 80% structured on‑the‑job learning within RWE teams. Upon completion, you will achieve a BSc (Hons) Accounting & Finance Manager, Level 6 Accounting & Finance Manager Degree Apprenticeship.
Key Responsibilities- Support operational planning, budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial reporting activities.
- Assist with monitoring financial and operational performance, including analysis of variances and key performance indicators.
- Produce accurate financial information to support decision‑making by finance colleagues, operations teams, and management.
- Contribute to the maintenance of effective financial controls, ensuring compliance with internal processes, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end activities, including reconciliations and data validation.
- Work with internal stakeholders across finance, operations, and wider business functions to understand cost drivers and financial performance.
- Assist with the development, standardisation, and improvement of finance systems, reports, and processes.
- Some travel will be required to visit other UK sites and offices, as well as occasional travel globally.
- Developing knowledge of accounting, finance, and controlling principles, supported through formal apprenticeship study.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present financial information clearly.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and data integrity.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
