Reporting to the Procurement Team Leader and working alongside the Procurement Manager and FF&E Designer, the Junior Procurement Manager plays a vital role in supporting the procurement process across multiple yacht projects. Having a clear understanding of the project schedule and scope, the Junior Procurement Manager helps to ensure the projects are delivered on time, to budget and to an exceptional standard, in line with RWD's ambition to be the most inspiring yacht design studio in the world. Occasional domestic and international travel may be necessary to engage with suppliers and shipyards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- Assist the Procurement Manager in compiling and maintaining the procurement budget and ensuring all documentation adheres to established standards.
- Keep the budget up to date with current spend, and assist in preparing monthly reports to stakeholders.
- Support the ordering process for all Owners' supply procurement categories, including standard furniture & lighting, fitted fabrics & leathers, window treatments, special finishes, carpets, tableware & linen, cushions, decorative accessories and artwork.
- Work with the Procurement Manager to ensure seamless procurement and onboard realisation of all categories.
- Liaise with suppliers, ensuring all lead times are known, and all orders are accurate.
- Track and manage orders throughout the purchasing process, providing timely updates to the Procurement Manager and Project Manager.
- Assist the Procurement Manager with preparing monthly statements and liaising with the Finance team to ensure prompt payment processing and timely client invoicing.
- Work alongside the Procurement Manager to organise storage, consolidation, shipping, customs, deliveries and installation for all Owners' supply categories.
- Understand the financial set up of the Owners' Supply Procurement, including tax and export considerations, and work with the Procurement Manager to ensure that all compliance is met.
- Assist the FF&E Designer & Procurement Manager during sign off visits and final installation.
- Aid in the preparation of client presentations, including printing, mounting and organising presentation materials.
- Assist project team with organising and managing incoming and outgoing shipments in the studio, including international shipments, in preparation for client presentations.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Previous experience in purchasing or within FF&E is preferred.
- Experience in account management within the design industry, logistics or finance may also be relevant.
- Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail and methodical approach.
- Effective time management abilities to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- An understanding of budget management and financial reporting.
- Appreciation for quality and luxury goods, with previous experience in the luxury sector being a plus.
- A keen interest in design and an eye for aesthetics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent IT skills, particularly in MS Office and Excel.
- Ability to work collaboratively and adapt quickly to changing demands.
- A proactive approach to professional development and a willingness to learn.
