JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for Setting and Operating of Moulding Machines within your section and assisting in completing orders on time and at the correct quality and cost.

POSITION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain the working area in a clean and safe condition – including machinery, floors, ancillary equipment, storage, and administrative areas.
  • To set the moulding process to achieve the required quality and standard cycle time.
  • Conduct and record safety checks of moulding machines.
  • Embrace behavioural based safety and environmental adherence, focus on “see it, sort it, report it” methodology to deal with immediate safety concerns and proactively take ownership of personal safety and for the safety of colleagues.
  • Safely conduct tool changes as required to achieve the production plan, in accordance with company procedures.
  • Prove tooling and troubleshoot machine and process to ensure product is Right First Time.
  • Carry out First-Off, Last-Off and in-process checks to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Ensure that non-conforming products are identified, contained, and reported.
  • Carry out line clearance at end of production in preparation for next tooling setup.
  • To identify and arrange for rectification of defective equipment.
  • Handover the machines and shop floor to next shift in a clean and tidy state.
  • To assist and develop colleagues within the department.
  • Maintain departmental records, documentation such as SPC, Visual checks, Safety Checks & SAP transactions.
  • Liaise with Production Auditors, Quality Engineers and moulding supervision for process improvement.
  • Contribute to the implementation of Continuous Improvement Strategy in collaboration with your Section Leader to drive improvement in all aspects of the department and site.
  • To carry out any reasonable tasks which fall within your capabilities.
  • Comply with all current work instructions within the organisation.
  • Comply fully with all current HSE regulations in operation within the company whilst carrying out your duties.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERTISE REQUIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION

  • Recognised industry standard injection moulding setter qualifications e.g BPTA.
  • Relevant experience in moulding manufacturing operation.
