Job Purpose

The Domestic Business Development Manager is responsible for driving significant and sustainable growth within the domestic plumbing sector, focusing on identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities across various markets.

Development

  • Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify emerging trends and customer needs.
  • Develop and execute a robust business development strategy.
  • Lead the creation and implementation of go-to-market plans for new products and services.

New Business Acquisition

  • Generate and qualify high-potential leads through networking and proactive outreach.
  • Build and nurture a strong pipeline of opportunities.
  • Negotiate and close high-value deals with key decision-makers.

Relationship Management

  • Support execution of growth initiatives with national Key Accounts and Independent wholesale distributors.
  • Establish and maintain influential relationships with developers, contractors, and social housing providers.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to drive loyalty.

Sales Performance & Reporting

  • Consistently achieve and exceed sales targets and KPIs.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and market intelligence to senior leadership.
  • Analyse sales data to identify growth opportunities.

Brand & Product Promotion

  • Champion the company’s product portfolio through presentations and promotional campaigns.
  • Organize and participate in industry exhibitions and customer events.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Work closely with Marketing, Product Development, and Operations.
  • Provide feedback on market trends and customer insights.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay abreast of industry developments and best practices.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven track record in B2B sales, ideally within plumbing or construction.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications

  • Degree-level education in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development is desirable.
