As a leader in high-end construction, heritage conservation and specialist crafts in London and the South of England, we take pride in working on Britain's finest private residences, luxury hotels and most cherished historic architecture. We believe our people are our greatest asset, as it's their dedication to excellence that has been the foundation for our outstanding reputation.
As an Assistant Site Manager, you’ll work alongside the project team to deliver exceptional construction projects safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. Combining practical trade knowledge with developing management responsibility, you’ll coordinate site activity, support programme delivery and help create an outstanding experience for our clients.
Just some of the responsibilities we’ll trust you with:
- You’ll plan and coordinate daily and weekly site activities up to three weeks ahead, aligning labour, resources and sequencing with the construction programme.
- You’ll manage site operations and support employees and subcontractors, balancing hands‑on trade expertise with growing managerial responsibility.
- You’ll monitor workmanship, communicate quality expectations clearly and ensure company sign‑off and completion processes are followed.
- You’ll help build a strong safety culture by identifying risks, managing hazards and keeping SHE documentation accurate and up to date.
- You’ll maintain clear communication with clients, their representatives and the wider project team, helping to minimise disruption and sustain high levels of satisfaction.
- You’ll complete project administration and document control accurately, supporting financial tracking, planning updates and the secure storage of project information.
Where you will be based:
You’ll be part of our Central Region where high-end country projects from £500k to £100m are delivered by teams aligned to the scale and complexity of each build. Our portfolio for the region spans listed buildings, major refurbishments, contemporary new builds, sporting estates, boutique hotels, and substantial private residences. You’ll be based onsite at one of our prestigious projects, joining a warm and professional team known for their expertise, collaboration, and commitment to excellence.
Some of the rewards of working with us:
- Grow your skills and your career with access to full training and development programmes designed to help you reach your full potential.
- Be part of an inclusive workplace where everyone is respected, valued, and encouraged to share ideas and make a real impact.
- Enjoy a comprehensive rewards package including a competitive salary, company pension, sick pay, life cover, enhanced maternity/paternity pay, and long service recognition.
- Earn more time off with a holiday allowance that increases with your length of service, plus all bank holidays.
- Save on everyday essentials with exclusive discounts at leading retailers and supermarkets.
- Get 24/7 support through our Employee Assistance Programme, offering expert advice, counselling, and practical help whenever you need it.
- Enjoy a restful holiday break. We close during the Christmas period, giving you the chance to relax over the festive season.
- We prioritise your wellbeing with our healthcare programmes, annual flu vaccines, and for those who will benefit, a personalised menopause plan.
The areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:
- You’ll have completed a recognised Trade Apprenticeship and bring practical trade experience.
- You’ll hold a valid Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certificate and First Aid certificate.
- You’ll have experience supervising construction sites, with the confidence to coordinate people, subcontractors and activities.
- You’ll understand standard pre‑construction processes, relevant safety, health and environmental regulations, and the importance of statutory compliance.
- You’ll be self‑motivated, organised and able to use initiative, adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
- You’ll communicate clearly, understand the importance of client satisfaction and be comfortable using Excel or basic programming software.
