Hybrid: 2 days per week in-office

The role: As a Marketing Analyst at Confused.com, you will be crucial in driving business impact and decision-making by bridging the gap between data and insight. We are looking for a proactive analyst who will identify opportunities for deep analytics on customer behaviour and marketing performance by working closely with a variety of teams and stakeholders from across the business. As a member of the marketing analytics team, you will partner with the marketing teams across a variety of channels and play a pivotal role in crafting the ultimate user experience for Confused.com customers. Join us on our mission to allow anyone in the UK to confidently and effortlessly find insurance plans which suit their needs, empowering consumers to make confident decisions. We strive to simplify some of the most complex and daunting consumer marketplaces, to genuinely improve the lives of our users.

We answer questions like:

  • ‘How successful was our most recent email campaign?’
  • ‘What impact does our rewards scheme have on retention and customer lifetime value?’
  • ‘How can we improve customer segmentation to provide a more personalised customer experience?’
  • ‘What incentives drive and influence transacting and acquisition on our funnels and channels?’

What you’ll be doing:

  • You’ll be using tools and databases including Databricks, Tableau, LDP and Python, to tackle important problems that we’re only just starting to understand, in order to:
  • Manage data from its raw format to an output of comprehensive dashboards, creating compelling, actionable and high-value bespoke analysis that allow for data storytelling and decision making.
  • Collaborate with, and influence peers across marketing, product, engineering, and the wider business to make data-driven decisions guided through split tests.
  • Explore data for new insights and recommendations to improve marketing strategies across our businesses.
  • Participate in company wide analytics initiatives to advance our analytical capabilities and keep us one step ahead of the business and industry requirements.
  • Working closely with other departments, including marketing and engineering to integrate and implement solutions giving you opportunities to expand your knowledge and explore new capabilities.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in marketing analytics, with a good understanding of marketing channels.
  • Track record of driving business decisions and impact.
  • Strong SQL skills; particularly in reference to Databricks with experience in using analytical and data tooling such as Python, Tableau, Git, dbt etc.
  • Understanding of data engineering concepts and practices, with the ability to work with engineering to translate business requirements and ensure the data is structured appropriately for the required analytics.
  • Experience with data modeling, ETL process and/or data pipeline creation.
  • Exposure to Data Science methodologies and a desire to learn more about AI/ML.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities, ensuring the highest value work gets accomplished in a proactive and timely manner and ability to communicate complex results in a clear, accessible way.
  • Ambassador for data, demonstrated ability to work with multi disciplinary teams and advocate for data driven decisions.
