RVA Surveyors are an award-winning business rates reduction specialist, helping businesses across England and Wales reduce their commercial business rates liabilities.
We’re looking for an organised, proactive and personable Credit Controller & Accounts Assistant to join our growing finance team. This is a varied role where credit control is your primary responsibility, alongside supporting the wider finance function with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and general accounts administration. We’re looking for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work and is happy to get involved wherever support is needed.
The Role
As part of our finance team you’ll manage your own customer ledger while providing support across the accounts function. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing your own portfolio of customer accounts
- Chasing overdue payments by telephone and email
- Building positive relationships with customers and resolving account queries
- Negotiating payment arrangements where appropriate
- Allocating customer payments and reconciling accounts
- Raising sales invoices and credit notes
- Supporting the Accounts Receivable function
- Assisting with Purchase Ledger processing, supplier invoices and payment runs when required
- Reconciling supplier statements
- Maintaining accurate financial records using Sage & Xero
- Supporting month-end processes and providing general finance administration
- Assisting colleagues across the finance department during busy periods and annual leave
About You
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Previous Credit Control experience
- Experience within Accounts Receivable, Sales Ledger or a similar finance role
- Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable experience would be an advantage
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- A confident and professional telephone manner
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- The ability to manage competing priorities
- Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Experience using Sage and Xero would be beneficial but isn’t essential
