We are currently recruiting for an experienced Joinery Tutor Assessor to join our team, based at our workshop in Antrim town. As a Joinery Tutor you will be at the forefront of shaping the next generation of skilled craftsmen, guiding students through the intricate art of joinery and carpentry. Your responsibilities include inspiring and instructing students in various woodworking techniques, materials, and project management.

Crafting comprehensive lesson plans that seamlessly integrate the latest industry trends, tools, and woodworking technologies, you will equip students with the knowledge and skills essential for success in the dynamic and evolving field of joinery. Sharing practical insights and hands-on experiences, your goal is to prepare students for the challenges and opportunities they will encounter in their careers as skilled artisans.

Fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment, your duties extend beyond traditional teaching to encourage creativity and excellence in woodworking craftsmanship, instilling in students the passion and expertise needed to become future leaders in the world of joinery.

The successful candidate will deliver up to Level 3 Diploma in Wood Occupations (Architectural Joinery and Site Carpentry). The qualification covers Site carpentry, Architectural joinery, Wheelwrighting, and Shopfitting bench work. You will be delivering to students studying on government-funded training programmes Skills for Life and Work (School Leavers) and ApprenticeshipsNI; as well as private students.

The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for the Construction Industry; and possess the motivation and commitment to see our students succeed on their programme of study. Ideally, they will have good mentoring skills and sound knowledge of working with awarding bodies and delivering qualifications.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Minimum Level 2/GCSE English and Maths qualifications
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Joinery (Site Carpentry and Architectural Joinery)
  • 2+ years' experience working in the Joinery Industry
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Full clean driving licence and access to transport
  • Achievement of A1 Assessors Award (Desirable)
  • Teaching Qualification - Minimum Level 4 Certificate in Teaching (Desirable)
