Overview

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the primary sterilization and decontamination of all instrumentation and equipment according to current recognized and approved standards. Instrumentation and equipment processed include items used in the operating room, endoscopy, various nursing units, and our clinics.

Compensation

Pay Range: $21.96 – $31.99

COMPETITIVE DIFFERENTIALS RATES

  • $4.25 – Evenings
  • $8.00 – Nights
  • $4.75 – Weekends

FOR CERTIFIED SPD Technician: $5,000 Hiring Supplemental Bonus

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum Work Experience: One year of healthcare experience preferred.
  • Required Licenses/Certifications: CPSPD Certification preferred; opportunity to pursue upon hire.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of general infection control practices preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to participate in a 3-month in-house training program.
  • Willingness and ability to participate in weekend on-call rotation.
  • Exhibits sound judgment and maintains composure under stressful conditions.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated moderate knowledge of basic computer skills.
