Overview
The CRNA assists the anesthesiologist and cares for patients before, during and after procedures. This position functions as the extension of the physician and is responsible for performing critical measures to maintain patient safety and ensure optimal outcomes.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or higher from a nurse anesthetist program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA)
Required Licenses/Certifications
- Certified as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists
- COA Certification
- Licensed in the State of Vermont
- BLS Certification through American Heart Association
Required Skills, Knowledge And Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required to deal with patients from diverse socio-economic backgrounds
- Basic Microsoft desktop application and navigation skills
