  • To inspect and identify vehicles parked in contravention of parking regulations
  • Issue penalty charge notices where necessary, to ensure our roads are safe and congestion free,
  • Walking several miles per day, outdoors in all seasons,
  • Full training in parking enforcement will be provided, including conflict management
  • Working flexibly on shifts between 8am-6pm weekdays, likely 10am-6pm, with regular evening, weekend and bank holiday work with pay uplifts. Initial training may be within weekday and Saturday 8am-6pm range

Additional Requirements

Please note, the successful applicant will need access to a private vehicle; be mobile and able to work from various locations with a full, valid UK driving licence and business vehicle insurance cover. This is to enable travel across the county to undertake the full requirements of the role. The successful candidate will be required to undertake a standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Costs for the DBS are covered by Rutland County Council.

  • Capable of lone working safely, previous experience in an enforcement role preferred
  • A keen eye for detail
  • An excellent communicator able to encourage considerate parking, sometimes in challenging situations, whilst providing a high level of customer service
