Are you looking for a rewarding career? We are seeking dedicated individuals with the passion and commitment to support others in making meaningful changes in their lives and enabling them to live independently. Our goal is to ensure that everyone who uses our service has the most positive experience possible, and we strive to go above and beyond to help people re‑engage with their communities and live their fullest, most independent lives.

This is a community based role, so it is essential that you hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car to travel throughout Rutland.

We offer permanent, fixed‑term, and casual contracts, with flexible working hours on a split shift rota. Start and finish times may vary depending on service needs.

Pay rates:

  • Basic rate: £12.85 – £13.05 per hour
  • Saturdays: £19.28 – £19.59 per hour
  • Sundays & bank holidays: £25.70 – £26.11 per hour

Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential — we welcome applications from individuals with varying levels of experience. We provide a comprehensive induction, a personalised training plan, and full funding to undertake the QCF Diploma and Level 2 Health and Social Care qualifications.

About you

  • You are caring and compassionate
  • You build strong relationships based on trust
  • You are eager to learn and develop new skills
  • You are committed to putting the needs of the people you support first

About the role

  • Support adults in developing and maintaining daily living skills, including personal care
  • Assist with tasks such as washing, dressing, showering, meal preparation, household activities, and participation in community life
  • Carry out delegated health‑related tasks, including prompting prescribed medication, supporting the use of prescribed creams, eye and ear drops, catheter care, and assisting with physiotherapy‑recommended exercises

Community Support Services – MiCare is a short‑term integrated health and social care service that provides short‑term support to people in their own homes. We put people at the heart of the service and deliver exceptionally responsive, person‑centred care which enables the individuals to live a life of their choosing. We have received an overall ‘Outstanding’ from a recent CQC Inspection.

The successful applicant for this post will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The costs for the DBS are paid by us.

We will be reviewing applications on a regular basis and inviting those who meet our essential person specification criteria to interview on a rolling basis. If you’re interested in this role, we strongly encourage you to apply without delay.

We reserve the right to close the vacancies when all positions are filled.

Please note: previous applicants need not apply.

Rutland County Council is committed to Equality and Diversity and welcomes applications from all sections of the community. Everyone at Rutland County Council has a responsibility for, and is committed to, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults and for ensuring that they are protected from harm.
