This is an opportunity to join a highly regarded, internationally focused transactional team advising on complex domestic and cross-border matters for multinational corporations, private equity sponsors, investment funds, financial institutions and high-growth businesses.

The role sits at the centre of the firm's knowledge and innovation function and will work closely with Partners, Associates and business services teams to enhance technical excellence, drive knowledge-sharing initiatives and support the continued development of a market-leading corporate practice. The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise with a commercial and practical approach, helping to shape know-how strategy, deliver training, monitor legal developments and contribute to legal innovation initiatives across the practice.

The Corporate team advises on a broad spectrum of transactional and advisory matters across a diverse range of industries. They do both private and public M&A work, restructuring, reorgs, PE deals often with an international / cross border element.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Knowledge Management and Precedents: Develop, maintain and enhance the Corporate team's know-how resources, precedents, template documentation and transaction support materials. Ensure that knowledge resources remain up to date, commercially relevant and reflective of current market practice. Create practical guidance notes, drafting tools, checklists and playbooks to support lawyers across the practice. Identify opportunities to improve the accessibility and effectiveness of knowledge resources.
  • Legal and Market Developments: Monitor legislative, regulatory and market developments affecting corporate transactions and governance. Analyse developments and prepare technical updates, briefing notes and practical guidance for lawyers and clients. Track emerging trends in M&A, private equity, corporate governance and related areas. Support the practice in responding to significant legal and market developments.
  • Technical Support: Act as a trusted technical resource for partners and associates on complex corporate law issues. Assist transaction teams with legal research and technical analysis. Promote consistency in drafting, transaction management and legal risk assessment across the practice. Support the development of best-practice approaches to transactional work.
  • Training and Professional Development: Design and deliver technical training programmes for lawyers at all levels of qualification. Contribute to induction programmes, continuing legal education initiatives and skills development programmes. Support junior lawyers in developing technical excellence and market awareness. Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions and practice group workshops.
  • Innovation and Knowledge Strategy: Work closely with innovation, legal technology and knowledge management teams to improve efficiency and service delivery. Support the development and implementation of AI-enabled tools, document automation solutions and knowledge platforms. Contribute to the firm's broader knowledge strategy and continuous improvement initiatives. Identify opportunities to leverage technology to enhance the delivery of legal services.
  • Client and Business Development Support: Contribute to client alerts, thought leadership publications, newsletters and market commentary. Support the preparation of external presentations, webinars and client training programmes. Assist partners with strategic knowledge initiatives that strengthen client relationships and market profile. Help showcase the firm's technical expertise through high-quality client-facing content.

This role forms part of a collaborative and highly integrated knowledge environment. The successful candidate will work closely with partners and fee earners on a day-to-day basis and will have significant visibility across the practice. Unlike larger, highly centralised knowledge structures, this position offers the opportunity to play a strategic role in shaping knowledge initiatives, influencing practice development and supporting the continued growth of a dynamic international corporate platform. The role combines traditional professional support responsibilities with broader contributions to innovation, training, business development and knowledge strategy, making it well suited to a commercially minded lawyer seeking a varied and high-profile position.

Candidate Profile:
  • Qualifications and Experience: Qualified solicitor in England & Wales or another common law jurisdiction with UK market experience. At least 4 years' post-qualification experience within a leading corporate practice. Strong technical expertise across corporate transactions, company law and governance matters. Experience gained at a leading international law firm or major national firm. Previous experience as a Knowledge Lawyer, Professional Support Lawyer or equivalent role is desirable but not essential.

  • Work closely with respected partners and senior lawyers.
  • Shape knowledge strategy and legal innovation initiatives.
  • Deliver meaningful impact across training, know-how and business development.
