Our client, a leading global law firm, is seeking a Structured Finance Associate to join their dynamic finance and real estate team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to work on sophisticated UK and European commercial real estate finance transactions in a thriving, collaborative environment.
Position Overview
As a Structured Finance Associate, you will play a key role in providing comprehensive, practical and business-oriented advice to a wide range of clients, including banks, life insurance companies, private equity sponsors, hedge funds, real estate funds, debt funds, REITs, BDCs, sovereign entities and pension vehicles. You will work closely with specialists from tax, restructuring and corporate practices to deliver high-quality, time-sensitive service to clients.
Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate complex loan agreements and intercreditor agreements
- Identify security perimeters and oversee the drafting and negotiation of security documentation
- Manage deal teams, including local counsel, ensuring smooth transaction processes
- Engage with legal and commercial counterparties with confidence and clarity
- Diligence assets and document the sale of assets on repo lines
- Contribute to the development of client relationships and new business opportunities
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with 1-5 years PQE
- Extensive experience in loan-on-asset financings and some experience in loan-on-loan financings
- Strong academic background and excellent technical skills
- Experience in securitisation (private or public), asset-backed securities, receivables financing, and/or asset-based lending
