Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking to hire a Senior Associate into its London-based Real Estate Energy & Infrastructure practice. The team advises on high-profile projects connected to the UK’s evolving energy landscape and wider infrastructure development pipeline.

This opportunity would suit a commercially minded real estate lawyer looking to work on complex development and infrastructure matters spanning the renewables, utilities and transport sectors. The successful individual will join a highly regarded practice acting on strategically important energy and infrastructure schemes throughout the UK. The role offers exposure to innovative projects across emerging technologies and established asset classes, working alongside specialists from multiple disciplines across the firm.

The practice regularly advises on developments involving:

  • Renewable generation projects, including offshore and onshore wind installations
  • Solar and energy storage assets
  • Hydrogen production and associated networks
  • Heat and district energy systems
  • Waste-to-energy facilities
  • EV charging infrastructure
  • Conventional and transitional power projects
  • Transport and logistics-related infrastructure, including ports and aviation assets

Key Responsibilities

The role will involve advising clients through all stages of project development and delivery, including:

  • Negotiating and preparing project-related property documentation, including leases, option arrangements, easements and development agreements
  • Managing land assembly, title investigations and access-related matters for large-scale schemes
  • Advising on compulsory acquisition processes and nationally significant infrastructure consenting matters
  • Supporting developers, institutional investors, utilities businesses, lenders and public sector bodies on major transactions
  • Working closely with colleagues across planning, construction, finance, regulatory and corporate teams on integrated project delivery
  • Supervising junior lawyers and supporting broader client relationship management initiatives

Candidate Requirements

  • 5-8 PQE
  • England & Wales qualified solicitors from leading City, UK and US law firms
  • Experience advising on infrastructure, energy, regeneration or large development projects with relation to Real Estate
