Job Description
Our client, an industry-leading global investment firm is looking to hire a Marketing Compliance Associate to join its Compliance function, supporting its expanding presence in Europe and beyond. This position will play a vital role in ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and best practices across a diverse set of investment products and client types.
The role is embedded within the EMEA Compliance team, acting as a key advisor to distribution and investor relations professionals who market investment offerings to institutional and private clients. This includes working across multiple asset classes and geographies to provide strategic guidance on regulatory matters, investor communications, and fund distribution frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Marketing Compliance: Review and provide feedback on marketing materials, investor presentations, due diligence documents, and reporting deliverables from a regulatory and risk perspective.
- Regulatory Advisory: Offer practical legal/compliance guidance regarding fund distribution, investor classification, and regional registration regimes, particularly within Europe.
- Policy Development: Contribute to the enhancement and upkeep of internal policies and procedures concerning marketing and fundraising activities.
- Training & Education: Design and deliver internal training programs for client-facing professionals to reinforce compliance with European distribution regulations.
- Global Collaboration: Liaise with compliance counterparts in other regions (US, APAC) to align on regulatory expectations and ensure consistent global practices.
- Regulatory Monitoring: Stay abreast of relevant EU frameworks (AIFMD, MiFID II, CBDF, SFDR, etc.) and assist in interpreting their implications for the business.
- Project Support: Provide compliance support for broader team initiatives and cross-functional projects, as needed.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- 4–5 years of experience in a legal or compliance role at a law firm, investment manager, or financial services firm.
- Deep understanding of marketing/distribution regulations within Europe; direct experience with AIFMD/MiFID is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with private markets or alternative investment structures preferred.
- Highly detail-oriented, analytical, and organised.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver clear regulatory advice to business teams.
- Independent and proactive, yet a strong collaborator in a global team environment.
