Rutherford is recruiting a Senior Associate to join the Natural Resources practice of a leading international law firm within its Financial Services & Capital Markets team. This is an excellent opportunity to support market-leading work across mining, corporate securities, equity capital markets and cross-border M&A, advising clients across both developed and emerging markets.
The Role
- You will advise on a broad range of corporate matters, including:
- Public and private M&A, joint ventures and general corporate transactions
- Acting for listed and private mining and natural resources companies
- Leading equity capital markets matters (IPOs, secondary fundraisings)
- Supporting public companies on compliance, reporting and governance
- Drafting and negotiating transaction documentation
- Supervising junior lawyers and supporting business development
- International travel opportunities across regions including Africa, Canada, the Middle East and Australia
About You
- The ideal candidate will have:
- 4+ years’ PQE
- Strong background in mining and public companies work (essential)
- Oil & gas exposure preferred
- Experience in equity capital markets and transactions for listed entities
- Strong international M&A experience
- Excellent drafting, commercial awareness and client-facing skills
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to travel
