We are recruiting a Supervising Associate (4+ PQE) to join a market-leading Derivatives & Trading team within a leading international law firm. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of buy-side trading and derivatives matters, advising sophisticated institutional clients across global financial markets.
The team is part of a broader Asset Management & Investment Funds practice and is recognised for delivering pragmatic, commercially focused advice on complex and high-value transactions in a fast-moving, highly regulated environment.
As a Supervising Associate, you will play a central role within the team, taking ownership of complex matters and developing long‑term client relationships. Your responsibilities will include:
- Drafting and negotiating a broad range of trading and derivatives documentation, including ISDAs, prime brokerage agreements, GMRAs, GMSLAs and ETD agreements
- Advising clients on regulatory developments affecting derivatives and trading activity, including EMIR and MiFID II
- Managing multiple high-value transactions simultaneously with confidence and commercial judgment
- Working closely with partners, colleagues across other practice areas and clients to deliver integrated advice
- Mentoring and supervising junior lawyers
- Contributing to business development, thought leadership and knowledge‑sharing initiatives
Candidate Profile:
- 4+ years’ post‑qualification experience – England & Wales Qualified
- Trained and qualified at a leading law firm
- Strong experience advising buy‑side clients on derivatives and trading matters
- Excellent academic background
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage sensitive, high‑value matters
- Confident communicator with the ability to build trusted client relationships
- Collaborative approach and commitment to working within a diverse and inclusive team
