Job Description

We are currently partnered with a data centre developer that are seeking a mid-level Counsel in their London office. The Counsel will support the European team on a range of matters, including D&C, financing, M&A and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including supplier agreements, construction and development contracts, procurement arrangements, and professional services engagements.
  • Assist with corporate transactions, joint ventures, and investments, including due diligence, document preparation, and post-completion matters.
  • Support the acquisition, leasing, and development of sites, including liaising with external counsel on property and planning issues.
  • Advise on compliance with relevant UK and EU regulations, including data protection, ESG, health & safety, and anti-bribery/anti-corruption.
  • Coordinate with external counsel on disputes and claims, ensuring efficient resolution and risk management.
  • Work with colleagues across Europe and globally on multi-jurisdictional projects and transactions.

Requirements:

  • 3 – 8 PQE, ideally from either a construction, project finance or real estate background.
  • Strong negotiating skills with both legal and commercial issues
  • Previous in-house experience from construction or real estate development would be beneficial.
