The London-based leveraged finance and capital markets team forms part of a broader global practice that brings together expertise across complex financing structures. Lawyers in this group advise on transactions that frequently combine leveraged lending with capital markets components, requiring a deep understanding of both disciplines.
The team is known for its ability to execute challenging, multi-jurisdictional mandates involving English law, New York law and other major international financing regimes. Matters often sit at the cutting edge of the market and involve coordination across offices and practice areas. Clients include leading financial institutions, private equity sponsors, corporates and real estate investors, with instructions regularly spanning multiple jurisdictions and sectors.
Our client is seeking an associate to join its London leveraged finance and capital markets practice. The role offers exposure to a broad mix of high-value transactions, including complex leveraged financings, debt capital markets issuances and restructuring-related work. Associates work closely with partners and senior lawyers on headline transactions and are encouraged to take on early responsibility, including direct client contact and involvement in transaction management.
Key Responsibilities- Advising on leveraged finance transactions, including sponsor-backed and corporate financings
- Working on capital markets elements of financing structures, including debt issuances
- Supporting on complex, cross-border transactions involving multiple legal regimes
- Drafting and negotiating finance documentation and ancillary agreements
- Coordinating with colleagues across international offices and practice areas
- Assisting with restructurings and other special situations as required
- 6 - 10 PQE
- England & Wales qualified (or Singapore, India, Australia from Tier 1 ranked firms)
- Experience in leveraged finance, capital markets or related banking and finance work
- Exposure to cross-border transactions and international client groups
- Strong technical skills combined with commercial awareness
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
