An opportunity has arisen for a Financial Services Regulatory Solicitor to join the London team of a leading international law firm with a strong reputation in payments, fintech, and financial services regulation. This highly regarded practice advises financial institutions, payment firms, fintechs, and technology-enabled businesses on complex UK and cross-border regulatory matters. The team sits at the forefront of regulatory developments across payments, digital assets, and emerging technologies, providing strategic advice on some of the most innovative products and business models in the market.

Key areas of work include:

  • Advising on payments regulation, including FCA authorisations, the Payment Services Regulations, Electronic Money Regulations, safeguarding requirements, Consumer Duty, and operational resilience frameworks.
  • Supporting fintech clients on the launch of new products and services, regulatory perimeter analysis, embedded finance, Banking-as-a-Service models, AI governance, and cross-border expansion projects.
  • Advising on digital assets and market infrastructure matters, including cryptoasset regulation, stablecoins, tokenisation, distributed ledger technology, trading venues, custody, clearing, and settlement arrangements.

Candidate requirements:

  • 1–6 years’ PQE gained at a leading UK or international law firm.
  • Experience advising on financial services regulation, payments, fintech, or digital assets.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills with a commercial approach to problem-solving.
