Our client, a highly regarded US firm, is expanding its Media, Entertainment & Sports team in London and is looking for a 3-6 PQE associate. The practice acts for a wide range of clients, including rights-holders, broadcasters, agencies, and athletes/celebrities, with matters often involving international elements. They are particularly keen to see candidates with experience in commercial contracts within media, entertainment or sports, though strong general commercial backgrounds will also be considered.
You will work closely with senior lawyers and partners on a broad range of complex media, entertainment and sports transactions. Youβll be involved throughout the deal lifecycle, structuring, negotiating and managing contracts while building technical expertise and commercial judgment.
Role Overview- Advise clients across the full spectrum of commercial transactions in the media, entertainment and sports sectors, including sponsorship agreements, licensing arrangements, joint ventures, and other complex contracts.
- Draft, negotiate, and review bespoke commercial contracts.
- Assist in structuring deals and managing legal and commercial complexities.
- Work collaboratively across teams, including advisory, transactional and disputes colleagues, to ensure smooth execution of matters.
- Maintain close client contact throughout transactions, providing practical and commercially focused advice.
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, thought leadership, and client development initiatives.
- England & Wales qualified, or qualified overseas with relevant London market experience.
- 3β6 PQE (or equivalent experience) in commercial contracts, ideally in media, entertainment, sports, or general commercial practice.
- Strong academic record and proven legal expertise.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and analytical skills, with high attention to detail.
- Commercially minded, with strong communication, interpersonal and client relationship skills.
- Comfortable working collaboratively across cross-border teams under pressure.
- Proactive, adaptable and committed to ongoing professional development and client engagement.
