Role Overview
Our client’s leading asset management and private equity practices provide an exceptional platform for associates interested in fund formation and secondary transactions. They work at the forefront of investment fund structuring and private markets transactions, advising some of the world’s most prominent sponsors and investors. This is a unique opportunity to gain exposure to both fund sponsor mandates and investor-side work across a broad range of sectors and strategies.
Practice & Clients
The teams advise on all aspects of fund structuring, including private investment funds, co-investment platforms, and separately managed accounts. Their clients include leading private equity sponsors, infrastructure and real estate managers, venture capital firms, debt funds, and institutional investors. Work frequently involves fund formation, governance structuring, secondary transactions, and co-investment arrangements. Associates can expect to advise both fund sponsors and investors, including passive, anchor, and co-investors deploying capital across buyout, infrastructure, real estate, venture capital, debt, and energy funds.
Responsibilities
Associates in these practices will:
- Advise and support fund sponsors on the formation and raising of alternative investment funds.
- Draft and negotiate documentation for co-investments and secondary transactions.
- Advise on governance and compensation structures for fund managers.
- Represent investors on primary fund commitments and co-investment opportunities.
- Assist on GP-led secondary transactions across multiple strategies.
Candidate Profile
- E&W or Irish Qualified Lawyer at NQ-2PQE with fund formations experience from a highly regarded US, UK or Irish law firm.
- NQs will have undertaken a seat in fund formation.
