Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking a dynamic 4-7 PQE Associate to join a specialized team focused on global competition law and foreign investment matters. This role is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a highly ranked leader with extensive experience in international merger control and regulatory investigations.
In this position you will:
- Assist in advising on cross-border merger control issues by analyzing jurisdictional challenges and coordinating transaction filings with local counsel.
- Support efforts to navigate intricate regulatory reviews and investigations related to anti-competitive practices and market dominance challenges.
- Contribute to the drafting and management of procedural tools such as data room setups, clean team protocols, and pre-closing compliance measures.
- Participate in all phases of regulatory investigations—from unannounced inspections and internal audits to leniency applications, settlement negotiations, and litigation support.
- Engage in advising on competition law compliance and the review of commercial arrangements that include distribution networks, joint ventures, franchising systems, and strategic alliances.
- Offer guidance on foreign direct investment matters, notably under the UK’s National Security & Investment Act and related public interest regimes.
Their work spans diverse sectors such as transportation, consumer products, life sciences, energy, and financial services. You will have the opportunity to work on projects with international exposure and complex, multi-jurisdictional dimensions, engaging with both EU and UK regulatory frameworks.
Requirements:
- You will be a 4-7 PQE Lawyer with post-qualified experience and a grounding in Antitrust & Competition law.
- Ideally E&W Qualified or experience working in Brussels.
