Our client, a prominent international law firm, is seeking a qualified Financial Services Regulatory Associate to join their team in London.
Position Overview
As an Associate in the Financial Services Regulatory team, you will play a crucial role in advising clients on complex and evolving regulatory issues. You will collaborate closely with clients to navigate challenging conversations with regulators and provide technical advice on a broad spectrum of matters, including wholesale issues, retail issues, and corporate transactional support. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to guide clients on regulatory approaches to innovative financial services and products.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on a broad range of complex and evolving financial services regulatory issues, both contentious and non-contentious
- Provide technical advice on wholesale issues, such as market abuse, fund structuring and marketing, capital raising, crowdfunding and financial crime
- Offer guidance on retail issues, including conduct risk, the FCA\’s Consumer Duty, consumer credit and payment services
- Support corporate transactions by providing regulatory due diligence and change of control notifications
- Work cross-functionally on structuring, launching, and administering financial services products in the UK and EU
- Guide clients on regulatory approaches to innovative financial services and products, including blockchain, crypto asset services, and AI deployment
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with financial services regulatory experience
- Strong critical thinking skills with a practical, commercial approach.
- Effective collaborator delivering high-quality client service.
- Experience working under time-sensitive conditions.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Adaptable and commercially aware.
