We are exclusively mandated by a top US law firm in London to find a NY-qualified Investment Funds Lawyer to join its leading team. The firm offers top-of-market Cravath compensation and exposure to sophisticated fund formation work. This role also offers significant cross-border collaboration with the New York office.
The Role
This role involves advising fund sponsors and institutional investors on the structuring, formation, and operation of private funds across private equity, hedge, debt, infrastructure, real estate, and venture capital.
Key responsibilities include:
- Structuring and launching private funds across multiple asset classes.
- Negotiating fund terms on behalf of institutional investors.
- Drafting and reviewing fund documentation, including LPAs and investor side letters.
- Advising on regulatory and compliance matters.
- Supporting clients on secondary transactions, including GP-led restructurings and liquidity solutions.
- Engaging in cross-border work with the firm’s New York office, with opportunities to travel to the US.
Requirements
- NY-qualified lawyer, currently practicing in London at a Magic Circle, Silver Circle, international, or peer US firm.
- Strong academic background.
- 2+ Years of experience in private fund formation, structuring, and institutional investor representation.
- Deep knowledge of private equity, hedge, debt, infrastructure, real estate, and venture capital fund structures.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
