Rutherford Cross is working with an organisation based in Livingston that is looking to add a Financial Controller to their team. This role will report directly to the Finance Director. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who will partner with the senior leadership team and be part of the growth and transition journey.
The Financial Controller is a key support position to the Finance Director. This role works closely with the Finance Director to:
- Deliver the consolidated monthly management accounts in line with monthly reporting deadlines
- Deliver the yearly statutory accounts
- Analyse the performance of the site
The Financial Controller will have a strong relationship with the senior leadership team, providing them with the data required to understand the performance of the business. The role will also deal directly with finance contacts in different locations to ensure all data is supplied on time. Some travel may be required from time to time within the European network.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform the consolidation of the monthly management accounts in the group consolidation tool, ensuring group policies are adhered to
- Produce the monthly and quarterly management accounts pack and review the business performance
- Monitor the monthly financial controls process across the business to ensure compliance with group processes
- Work closely with the various finance teams during budget and forecast preparation
- Preparation of information for the statutory audit and accounts
- Support and advise the senior leadership team on opportunities and risks
- Advise the Finance Director on opportunities and risks to working capital
- Support in other ad hoc tasks that may be required by the Finance Director from time to time
Experience:
- Demonstrable ability to analyse, interpret, explain and guide decision-making within an organisation
- Broad experience of cross-functional business processes and the ability to work in and with wider business teams and departments outside of the finance department
- Good technical knowledge and experience of supporting a year-end process
- Experience of working in a group environment and managing consolidations
- Track record of identifying opportunities for process improvement and in delivering the improvements identified
- Track record of implementing and managing financial control procedures
- Experience and ability to present to a Management Board
- Experience of working with ERP and Consolidation systems
- Manufacturing experience would be preferred
- Experience of working in a multinational organisation would be preferred
This role requires a fully qualified accountant with appropriate post-qualification experience and a candidate who is currently operating at Financial Controller level. Up-to-date knowledge of UK GAAP and high levels of integrity will also be key. This role is offering a highly attractive salary and discretionary bonus. The role will be based on-site in Livingston.
