An Interim Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis Manager is required to join a large public sector organisation on an initial 3-6 month contractual basis, based in Edinburgh. This role will support the senior finance leadership team in delivering high-quality financial planning, forecasting and reporting, ensuring robust financial insight is provided to support strategic and operational decision making.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the production of monthly management accounts, providing analysis on key variances and supporting corrective action where required.
- Oversee the financial planning cycle, including budgeting, forecasting and modelling.
- Provide expert financial advice to senior stakeholders on budgeting, forecasting, risk management and capital accounting.
- Manage and maintain accurate budget positions, ensuring all funding requirements are clearly understood and recorded.
- Collaborate across finance teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to internal leadership and external stakeholders.
- Take responsibility for capital accounting, including asset management, valuations and compliance with IFRS and public sector reporting standards.
To apply, you will be a fully qualified accountant with strong experience across financial planning, management accounting and technical accounting. You will be comfortable operating in a senior stakeholder-facing role, ideally within the public sector environment.
