Job Description

Group Finance Manager – Glasgow (Hybrid) – Competitive Salary + Benefits

Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with a well-established, family-owned construction and services business to recruit a newly created Group Finance Manager. This is a key role within the finance function, created following a sustained period of growth. Reporting directly to an experienced Financial Controller, this represents a fantastic opportunity to join a highly respected organisation in a broad and impactful position.

The role offers exposure across financial and commercial operations, with responsibility for both core finance processes and supporting strategic objectives. It’s well-suited to an ambitious finance professional looking to take ownership, add value, and work closely with senior leadership in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of daily finance operations, including payroll, purchase ledger, subcontractor ledger and credit control
  • Preparation, consolidation and presentation of monthly management accounts
  • Ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations (CIS, VAT, PAYE)
  • Balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations
  • Cashflow forecasting and management
  • Supporting statutory accounts preparation and the audit process
  • Working closely with commercial teams and wider group finance colleagues
  • Providing financial insights and support to the Financial Controller

The Candidate

We are seeking a qualified accountant (ACCA, ICAS, CIMA) with at least 5 years’ post-qualified experience, ideally within an industry setting. We are looking for people who have a demonstrable track record of managing people & managing day-to-day finances in a busy environment.
