Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with a well-established, international business to appoint a Senior Financial Accountant into its UK & Ireland shared services function. This is a key hire within a growing finance team supporting multiple entities. This role offers strong exposure across financial control, reporting, cash management and process improvement within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

The Role:

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial efficiency, governance and insight across the UK & Ireland group.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Cashflow, Treasury and Banking: Prepare and maintain detailed cashflow forecasts, monitor cash positions and provide actionable insight to senior stakeholders, support working capital optimisation and oversee payment cycles, manage banking relationships and facilities.
  • Balance Sheet and Control: Oversee balance sheet integrity, reconciliations and governance, take ownership of inventory reporting and provisioning, manage intercompany accounts and settlements, ensure strong controls across AP, AR, accruals, prepayments and payroll.
  • Statutory Reporting, Tax and Audit: Lead statutory accounts preparation and external audit process, act as the key contact for auditors, manage VAT compliance across the UK and Ireland, support corporation tax and R&D claims with external advisors.
  • Systems, Controls and Improvement: Support month end and year end close processes, maintain strong governance within finance systems, drive improvements in processes, controls and reporting, support finance transformation and system optimisation projects.

About You:

  • Qualified accountant, CA, ACCA or CIMA, or QBE with experience.
  • Strong technical grounding in financial accounting and reporting.
  • Good knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and tax compliance.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • You will be commercially aware, detail focused and proactive, with the ability to build strong relationships and drive continuous improvement in a fast paced environment.
