Overview: Rutherford Cross is working with a growing, PE-backed business in Glasgow to appoint a Senior Finance Contractor on a 6-month interim basis. This role has been created to provide hands-on support across financial accounting and transactional finance, while also driving process improvement and automation across reporting and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the financial accounting function, including statutory accounts and external audit support
- Maintain robust financial controls and documentation across accounting processes
- Review and support transactional finance activities, identifying inefficiencies and control gaps
- Enhance and automate management reporting, reducing manual processes
- Deliver practical process and system improvements in collaboration with the wider finance team
- Support finance projects aligned to ERP change and operational improvement
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Accountant or Qualified by Experience, with a strong background in industry
- Comfortable operating in hands on interim roles
- Proven experience improving manual or inefficient finance processes
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with ERP systems
- Pragmatic, proactive and able to add value quickly
