An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Interim Finance Manager to support a busy finance function in a fast-paced environment. This role is based in Glasgow city centre with hybrid working and requires someone confident in leading month-end, strengthening controls, and managing a small team.
Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Month-End
- Lead the month‑end close process, delivering timely and accurate management accounts including Balance Sheet, P&L and cashflow.
- Ensure the integrity of the trial balance; prepare and review journals such as accruals and prepayments.
- Oversee monthly balance sheet reconciliations and maintain robust financial controls.
- Team Leadership
- Manage and mentor a team of Finance Assistants with varying levels of experience.
- Oversee daily workload, provide coaching, and support ongoing development.
- Offer hands‑on support across transactional finance, including credit control, AP, and working capital processes.
- Cashflow & Forecasting
- Prepare and monitor cashflow forecasts, ensuring visibility of short‑ and long‑term liquidity.
- Support working capital management and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Business Support & Governance
- Assist the Head of Finance with preparation of the monthly Board pack.
- Maintain and enhance financial policies, processes, and internal controls.
- Support regulatory and statutory compliance including VAT returns, year‑end reporting, and liaison with external auditors.
