Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with a high-growth, private equity-backed business in Glasgow with the appointment of a Divisional Financial Controller. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business at an exciting stage of its growth journey, initially on a 3-6 month basis, with strong potential for the role to become permanent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end divisional month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
  • Take ownership of divisional P&L and balance sheet integrity, including review, challenge, and sign-off
  • Review trial balances against prior periods and budgets, identifying required adjustments and areas of concern
  • Oversee revenue recognition, WIP accounting, accruals, provisions and other key accounting judgements
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality divisional reporting packs, ensuring adherence to group reporting deadlines
  • Provide robust financial commentary and analysis on actual performance, accounting movements and run-rate trends
  • Act as the primary escalation point for divisional accounting and policy matters
  • Build strong relationships with central finance teams and Group Finance to ensure an efficient and controlled close process
  • Drive continuous improvement across financial reporting, controls, automation and process efficiency

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified or ‘Qualified by Experience’ finance professional
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and quickly establish credibility
  • Good systems knowledge and experience driving automation, reporting enhancements and process improvements
  • Available at short notice
