We are pleased to be supporting our private equity backed client with ambitious growth plans who is looking to appoint a Financial Accountant. This is an excellent first move for a newly qualified accountant from practice who wants broad exposure, strong mentorship from an FC, and the chance to get involved in the pace and variety that comes with PE ownership.
The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will take responsibility for core financial reporting processes, support group consolidation, and lead on several key control and compliance areas. The role provides excellent visibility across the finance team and the wider business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparation of monthly financial statements, journals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Support with group consolidation of management accounts
- Management of the fixed asset register including additions, disposals, and depreciation
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns, and support with wider tax compliance
- Assist with statutory accounts, audit queries, and technical accounting matters
- Prepare internal reporting packs for the FC and senior stakeholders
- Maintain and improve financial controls, ensuring compliance across processes
- Support cash flow reporting and forecasting
- Assist with corporate compliance requirements including filings and internal policies
- Work with non-finance teams to provide insight and drive continuous improvement
- Contribute to wider ad hoc reporting linked to PE ownership
Experience:
- Newly qualified CA or ACCA, Big 4 or mid-tier background
- Strong technical grounding with exposure to audit, statutory reporting, or financial statements
- Good understanding of controls, compliance, VAT, and general tax concepts
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, hands-on approach
- Confident communicator who enjoys working with stakeholders at all levels
- Ambitious, inquisitive, and keen to learn in a fast-paced and evolving environment
Salary and benefits:
£50,000-£55,000 Hybrid: 3 days office, 2 from home Early finish Fridays Core hours / flexitime
