We are working with a leading Big 4 organisation to recruit a Tax Assistant Manager for their Corporate Tax Compliance & Advisory team in Scotland. This role offers excellent development, broad technical exposure, and the chance to work with major UK-listed, PE-backed, inbound, and privately owned businesses. This is an ideal move for a qualified AM at a mid tier or regional firm, or an ambitious qualified tax senior ready to take the leap to a big 4.

Role Overview

You’ll manage a mixed portfolio of clients, deliver UK corporation tax compliance and contribute to a wide range of advisory projects including international tax, restructuring, tax governance and group reporting. You’ll also support senior team members on larger accounts and help develop junior colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a day‑to‑day contact for corporate tax compliance & advisory matters
  • Deliver high‑quality UK corporation tax returns
  • Support advisory projects and technical research
  • Keep clients updated on emerging tax developments
  • Coach and review the work of junior team members
  • Assist with client management, risk procedures and business development

What You’ll Need

  • CTA or ACA/CA (or equivalent)
  • Strong UK corporation tax experience
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines and work proactively
  • Experience supporting or coaching junior staff
  • Strong compliance grounding with some advisory exposure
