Rutherford Cross is working with a well-established commercial property organisation based in Uddingston, which is seeking a Management Accountant / Assistant Management Accountant to join its finance team. This role offers excellent exposure across management accounting, reporting, and business partnering, making it an ideal opportunity for an ambitious ACCA, CIMA, or ICAS student looking to further develop their experience.

Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in the day-to-day finance function and month-end processes across multiple sites. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Performing month-end close activities and bank reconciliations
  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Managing accounts receivable and debt collection activities
  • Supporting variance analysis and financial reporting
  • Assisting with year-end audit and statutory accounts preparation
  • Working with internal property management software and accounting systems
  • Building strong relationships with operational teams across the business

Requirements:

  • Experience in a management accounting, assistant accountant, or similar finance role
  • Progress towards a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or ICAS)
  • Strong reconciliation and month-end experience
  • Good knowledge of VAT and financial reporting processes
  • Experience using Xero or a similar accounting system
  • Broad exposure across management accounting and commercial finance
