This opportunity is ideally suited to a candidate seeking a varied, steady-state role that combines finance responsibilities with operational coordination.
The Finance & Operations Assistant will play an important role in supporting both the finance team and the wider logistics function. The role requires an individual with a broad range of experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities- Purchase Ledger:
- Register and post purchase invoices in the accounting system (Navision)
- Obtain appropriate invoice authorisations
- Process supplier payments and send remittance advices
- Reconcile supplier statements and follow up on any variances
- Administer company credit card reconciliations and obtain receipts
- Post customer payments
- Perform credit control duties and follow up on overdue balances
- Investigate and resolve customer queries, including PODs and debit notes
- Prepare and send regular customer statements
- Coordinate customer orders from receipt through to delivery
- Ensure all orders are delivered on time and in full
- Monitor and manage stock to maintain FIFO (first in, first out) practices
- Liaise with third-party warehouse providers to resolve delivery or stock-related queries
- Ensure timely and accurate invoice generation and dispatch
- Manage the processing of part pallets and order discrepancies
- Minimum of 2β3 yearsβ experience in a similar accounts assistant role
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong organisational skills and ability to meet operational timelines
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
- Reliable, methodical, and comfortable in a steady, supportive working environment
